McLaren Vale is one of South Australia’s oldest and most picturesque wine regions, nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf of St Vincent. It offers exceptional wines and regional produce all set amongst rolling vineyards, a rugged coastline and a charming collective of villages.
The inaugural 1970 Eileen Hardy Shiraz was released as a tribute to this great lady. Each vintage the winemakers select the very best parcels of old vine Shiraz which is over 110 years old from McLaren Vale to carry the ‘Eileen Hardy’ label. Captivating aromas of mulberry, dark plum, and blueberry fruit with notes of coffee, star anise and cinnamon along with polished leather and earth adding intrigue to the bouquet. A powerful combination of rich sweet blackberry fruit and fine tannin gives this wine great depth of flavour, with balance and texture.
