Six generations of family winemakers dating back to Thomas Hardy in 1853 – renowned father of the South Australian wine industry. One of Australia’s oldest and most well-known wine brand. The Hardys wine brands are headed by Thomas Hardy Cabernet Sauvignon, Eileen Hardy Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz; then the Sir James range of sparkling wines; next the HRB wines, the William Hardy quartet; then the expanded Oomoo range and the Nottage Hill wines. The bouquet provides a perfect idea of what is about to follow on the full-bodied palate: towering blackcurrant fruit with bay leaf, black olive and earth all dripping from the fruit where they meet implacable tannins and a poultice of French oak.

Still very youthful deep garnet in colour. Reams of blackberry fruit with a lifted red fruit edge. Deeper coffee/mocha with earthy elements, plenty of mint and a touch of meaty complexity. Lean and tight fruit profile with round, cotton wool mouth-filling tannins and an echo of milk chocolate oak.
